During the 2021-2022 academic school year, the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) Technology Repair Center (TRC) team noticed a trend of hundreds of staff MacBook Air batteries failing within 1-week of the warranty expiration. We were able to negotiate with Apple that ultimately agreed to repair over 650 out-of-warranty MacBook Airs that were experiencing power issues. Working with other managers, campus administrators, teachers, and campus technicians, the TRC team was able to process 650 MacBook Air repairs in 60-days. This project saved the school district $120,000 in repair costs.
